February Flash Fiction Challenge—Drabbles

111720-Flash Fiction Challenge

Congratulations to the winners of “Postcard Fiction,” the Flash Fiction form submissions for November. Winners were:

  • Sahar Choudhury (Heritage High School, Leesburg, VA)
  • Yunhui Shim (Northview High School, Johns Creek, GA)
  • Bethany Bradley (Saint Agnes Academy, Houston, TX)
  • Sarah Goldberg (American Heritage Plantation, Plantation, FL)
  • Hannah Yi (Northview High School, Johns Creek, GA)
  • Olivia Garza (Cypress Lakes High School, Katy, TX)
  • Maria Fischer (Joliet Catholic Academy, Joliet, IL)

Given the busy schedules that fill the school calendar in November and December, we are adjusting the Flash Fiction Writing Challenge schedule. We are moving the due date for Drabbles, stories in exactly 100 words, to February 1, 2021. (For those who have already submitted Drabbles, originally due in January, no need to re-submit.) Twitterature—stories utilizing no more than 280 characters, including spaces and punctuation—will be due on March 1. Micro-fiction stories will be eliminated and Six-Word Stories, one of the most popular forms, will still be due on April 1, 2021. We look forward to reading the creative entries from NEHS members and Advisors.
