Colson Whitehead Wins Pulitzer Prize for Fiction

Colson Whitehead, author of The Nickel Boys, the Common Reader for 2020-2021, has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. The Common Reader is the basis of a required essay that scholarship applicants submit each year. Prompts based on the novel will be announced in November and applications will be accepted from December 1, 2020 through January 11, 2021. The Advisory Council is working on making revisions to the scholarship offerings and processes for next year. Watch for announcements in the coming months.
